First BTS Member To Have Solo Release: It’s been 12 years since BTS boy band members, including Jin, Suga, Jhope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, have been captivating ARMY with their solo and group releases.
Even after going on a hiatus for their mandatory military services, BTS remains a global sensation. One of the most frequently asked questions is who was the first BTS member to have a solo release? It wasn’t V, Jin or Jimin, it was Jhope. Jung Ho Seok was the first BTS member to release a solo album, Jack in the Box, in July 2022.
BTS Jhope First Member To Have Solo Release
Back in 2022, Jhope was the first BTS member to release a solo album, in July last year. Titled “Jack in the Box,” it is a complex album featuring J-Hope’s desire to break moulds and grow further as an artist beyond the set personality about him. The album explores the concept of breaking free from expectations, inner turmoil and showcasing the dark, more intense side of his artistry.
Jhope is full of talents. He is a South Korean rapper, singer-songwriter, dancer and record producer. He rose to fame after joining Kpop group BTS in 2013 under Big Hit Entertainment. After collaboration with the band, in 2018, Jhope headed for his solo career. He launched a mixtape, Hope World, which garnered critical acclaim and charted impressively, becoming the highest-charting album by a Korean solo artist at the time. This achievement marked a significant milestone in his career. Two years later, he collaborated with Becky G on Chicken Noodle Soup, which also made history. In 2019, he became the first BTS member to enter the Billboard Hot 100 as a solo artist.
Recently, Jhope set the stage ablaze with his performance at Lollapalooza in Berlin, Germany. He left fans go gaga as he performed 21 songs non-stop for a 90-minute show.
Talking about BTS’s upcoming projects, after completing military service, all seven members of the band, Jungkook, V, Jimin, Jin, Suga, Jhope, and RM, are set to release an album and a world tour, which is anticipated for release in 2026. Jhope and Jin will be joining their fellow members, who are now in Los Angeles working on BTS’ album.
