The Kannada film industry is mourning the untimely demise of actor Santhosh Balaraj, who passed away on Tuesday morning at the age of 34. Santosh Balaraj, passed away despite receiving medical treatment, as his condition deteriorated, leading to his unfortunate death.

Santosh Balaraj was the son of renowned film producer Anekal Balaraj, who backed Darshan’s 2003 hit film Kariya. The producer passed away in a road accident in the year 2022.
Santhosh Balaraj, lived with his mother. He continued to work in films. Ganapa directed by Prabhu Srinivas which released in 2015, gained him immense popularity. His film Olavine Ole directed by Teshi Venkatesh, also earned him much praises from the audiences. Santosh Balaraj was last seen in Kariya 2 directed by Prabhu Srinivas. The film is produced by Anekal Balaraj through his production company (SE) Santosh Enterprises. In an interview, Santosh spoke about his dream role and comparisons to Darshan’s Kariya. He said “Ganapa itself has changed me a lot. I received a lot of offers because of Ganapa success and now Kariya 2 is also in the same vein. People started approaching me with different kinds of stories. Not only me, the entire Kariya 2 team is expecting big success from the movie. When it comes to the title, even Darshan gave his 100 per cent and audience accepted him. In the same way, we have given our 100 per cent and the rest is left to audience.”
