According to local media reports, 25 year old Yasin Arafat is a resident of South Hobirbari of Waluka. He instigated the mob which attacked Dipu at the factory gate, dragged his body to the Square Masterbari area of ​​Mymensingh district and set it on fire after tying it to a tree.

Yassin Arafat was working as an imam in the Shekhabari Mosque. The friend was teaching in a madrasa for about one and a half years. After the murder of Dipu Chandra Das on 18 December, he kept hiding in different madrassas of Dhaka for 12 days.
