Who is Vishal Jethwa?
Born into a Gujarati family, Vishal was raised by his mother, Preeti Jethwa, after he lost his father at a young age. To make ends meet, she worked hard to afford a good education for him. In an interview with us, Vishal said his mother worked as a domestic help to support the family financially. He started working at a young age to help her. Destined for global success, Vishal and his mother flew together for the Cannes Film Festival 2025.

Vishal made his acting debut in 2013 with Bharat Ka Veer Putra – Maharana Pratap. He shot to fame for playing the role of Akbar. The actor was cast as Bali in Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanuman. Before moving to films, Vishal did shows including, Diya Aur Baati Hum, Peshwa Bajirao, Chakradhari Ajay Krishna and Thapki Pyar Ki.
His Bollywood debut was Mardaani 2 with Rani Mukerji. His performance as the menacing antagonist received critical acclaim. Following this, he featured with Kajol in Salaam Venky and Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif’s Tiger 3.
Vishal forayed into OTT with JioHotstar’s Human in 2022. He was also seen in Amazon MX Player’s Party Till I Die in 2024.
Homebound, directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, is led by Vishal, Ishaan Khatter and Janhvi Kapoor. The Dharma Productions film will release in India soon.
