Pakistan’s role in Pahalgam terrorist attack has come to light. NIA has named Pakistani terrorist Sajid Saifullah Jatt as the main conspirator and has placed a reward of Rs 10 lakh on him. The investigation has also revealed the role of LeT/TRF network, four attackers and several local facilitators.
Srinagar/New Delhi. Pakistan’s role in Pahalgam terrorist attack has been revealed. The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has named Pakistani national Sajid Saifullah Jatt as the main conspirator behind the terrorist attack on April 22. Let us tell you that 26 tourists were killed in this terrorist attack in Baisaran Valley of Pahalgam. Sajid Saifullah Jatt, a resident of Kasur, Pakistan, is the chief of The Resistance Front (TRF), a faction of Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT). NIA has announced a reward of Rs 10 lakh for information leading to his arrest and he has been declared a banned terrorist under UAPA.
Chargesheet filed after 8 months of investigation
Others named in the chargesheet are three Pakistani terrorists, Sulemani Shah, Hamza Afghani and Jibran, who carried out the attack in Pahalgam and were killed during Operation Mahadev in Dachigam area on July 28. The charge sheet filed in the NIA court of Jammu area also names six other people, including local helpers Bashir Ahmed Jothar, Parvez Ahmed Jothar and Mohammad Yusuf Katari. These are the people who provided food and logistics support to the terrorists. Apart from these, names of three more people are also included in the charge sheet.
Bashir and Parvez had given shelter to terrorists
Investigators found that Bashir and Parvez had given shelter to the Pahalgam attackers in a hut in the Hill Park area on the night of April 21. Mohammad Yusuf had helped the terrorists behind the Pahalgam terror attack by guiding them through the forest area of South Kashmir and taking them to the site of the attack.
Connection with Pakistan’s Lashkar-e-Taiba
The NIA interrogated more than 1,000 people during its seven-month investigation, which led to the involvement of Lashkar-e-Taiba and The Resistance Front networks in the attack. According to the NI, LeT/TRF and four other terrorists have been charged under relevant sections of the Indian Code of Justice (BNS), 2023, Arms Act 1959 and Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) 1967. The NIA has also included punitive provisions related to waging war against the Indian government in the charge sheet.
