Nupur Bora is a 2019 batch ACS officer of Assam’s Civil Service. He was born on 31 March 1989 in Golaghat district of Assam. Talking about education, he completed his BA degree in English Literature from Guwahati University and studied at Cotton College. According to social media profiles, before joining civil service, she has worked as a lecturer at the District Institute of Education and Training (DIET).
Career now arrested as Assistant Commissioner
Nupur Bora’s administrative career started from Karbi Anglong as Assistant Commissioner, where he served from March 2019 to June 2023. He was then posted as Barpeta Circle Officer in June 2023 and was then transferred to Kamrup district. Now he has been arrested in the case of illegal land transfer and undeclared assets. About 1 crore rupees cash, diamonds and jewelry have been recovered from them. The arrest is taken after the new SOP of the Assam government, in which police clearance has been made necessary for inter-religious land transactions. According to the investigation, Bora had deposited more assets than his income.
