Who Is Haider Ali Pakistan Cricketer: Pakistan cricket has been involved in a fresh controversy as star batter Haider Ali has been placed under criminal investigation by the Greater Manchester Police.
As per the fresh developments, Haider was arrested in connection with an alleged case of sexual molestation. Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) was quick to place him under the suspension. However, Haider was later released on bail.
The PCB issued a statement that they were “made aware” of the investigation, with the incident in question occurring during Pakistan Shaheens’ recent tour of England, which concluded on Monday. The PCB has confirmed it is providing Haider legal support “to protect his rights throughout this process”.

“The PCB has been made aware of a criminal investigation currently being conducted by the Greater Manchester Police involving cricketer Haider Ali,” the PCB statement said. “The investigation pertains to an incident that reportedly occurred during the Pakistan Shaheens’ recent tour of England.
“The PCB fully respects the legal procedures and processes of the United Kingdom and acknowledges the importance of allowing the investigation to run its due course. Accordingly, the PCB has decided to place Haider Ali under provisional suspension, effective immediately, pending the outcome of the ongoing investigation. Once the legal proceedings are concluded and all facts have been duly established, the PCB reserves the right to take appropriate action under its Code of Conduct, if necessary.”

Who Is Haider Ali?
Haider Ali developed his interest in cricket at a very young age. He was born on October 2000 in Attock, Punjab in Pakistan into a family that was more into tent-pegging and horse-riding than cricket.
While his cousin played for Rawalpindi Rams in the domestic circuit, Haider is the only one in the family to have played professional cricket, beginning with tape-ball cricket in 2015 and joining the Al Faisal cricket club few months later.
Haider went on to make official appearances at Under-16 level in 2016 and at Under-19 level in 2017.
He made his debut for Pakistan during a T20I match against England in Manchester on September 1, 2020. He last played for the national team during a match against Afghanistan at Asian Games in Hangzhou in 2023.
Haider has played two ODIs and 35 T20Is for Pakistan so far, scoring 42 and 505 runs respectively.
