Know all about Raihan Vadra

Raihan Vadra completed his schooling at The Doon School in Dehradun, which was also attended by his grandfather, former prime minister Rajiv Gandhi, and his uncle, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. He later pursued higher studies in politics at the School of Oriental and African Studies (SOAS) in London.

Beyond academics, Raihan has carved a distinct identity as a visual artist and photographer. He has been photographing since the age of ten, with work spanning wildlife, street photography and commercial projects. His portfolio is featured by APRE Art House, a contemporary art gallery in Mumbai.

In 2021, Raihan held his first solo exhibition titled Dark Perception at Bikaner House in New Delhi. The exhibition explored themes of imagination, light and perception, shaped by his personal experience following an eye injury sustained during a school cricket match in 2017. Speaking earlier, Raihan said the injury influenced his shift towards black-and-white photography and deeper exploration of darkness and light.

Photography, encouraged by his mother Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, has been a lifelong passion for Raihan. He has also drawn inspiration from the work of his grandfather Rajiv Gandhi, who was known for his interest in photography.
