On the holy festival of Makar Sankranti, Gorakshpeethadhishwar and Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath offered Khichdi to Guru Gorakhnath temple at 4 am in Brahma Muhurta on Thursday as per the specific tradition of Nathpanth. The sacred pot of faith was offered to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath through rituals. It is my good fortune that I have also got the opportunity to offer the sacred pot of faith to Lord Gorakhnath Ji after the completion of the special puja of Gorakhnath temple at 4 o’clock in the morning. This festival of worship of Sun, the Father of the World, is considered to be the day of praise for all kinds of auspicious and auspicious works. After today, all auspicious programs will start in the tradition of Sanatan Dharma. CM Yogi said that according to astrological tradition, the solar circle is divided into 12 different parts. The transition of Sun God from one zodiac sign to another is called Sankranti and when Lord Sun transitions from Sagittarius to Capricorn then it is called Makar Sankranti. Sun God will remain Uttarayan for the next six months from Capricorn i.e. till Gemini. During the time of Uttarayan, days are long and nights are short. How important sunlight is for vitality and how much importance India’s sage tradition has given to it, can be estimated through this festival.
Lakhs of devotees reached Gorakhpur
CM Yogi said that on one hand, lakhs of devotees in Gorakhpur are offering the pot of faith to Baba Gorakhnath. At the same time, in Prayagraj, lakhs of devotees, Kalpavasi, revered saints are not only engaged in their sadhana, but are also taking a holy dip of faith in the Sangam in the presence of Lord Venimadhav, Lord Prayagraj and Mother Ganga, Mother Yamuna, Mother Saraswati.
