Maharashtra’s Satara doctor accused the police officer of repeated rape in her 4-page suicide note. Accused of putting pressure on MP, political controversy arose, and police officer suspended. The question arises that who will provide justice to women?
Mumbai . A shocking and sad news has come out from Satara district of Maharashtra. The 26-year-old lady doctor was a medical officer at Phaltan Sub-Divisional Hospital. He has made serious allegations in his four-page suicide note. She wrote that Sub-Inspector Gopal Badne raped her four times and tortured her mentally and physically continuously for 5 months.
What did the lady doctor write in the suicide note?
The doctor told in his suicide note that he was being pressured to issue some fake medical fitness certificates in the police case. When he denied these wrongdoings, he received threats from police officers as well as an MP and his two personal assistants. He also mentioned this crime on his palm and said that no attention was paid to his safety and complaints.

Will the doctor get justice?
In her four-page letter, the woman raised the question that if something happens to her, who will be responsible for it? He complained several times to the Superintendent of Police (SP) and Deputy Superintendent (DSP), but no action was taken. The doctor also told that his landlord Prashant Bankar harassed him. A case has been registered against Badne and Banker on charges of rape and abetment of suicide, and the police officer has been suspended. The woman had been working at the hospital for 23 months and was just a month away from completing her bond period to serve in a rural area, after which she wanted to pursue a post-graduate degree.
Which MP gave what threat to Lady Doctor over phone?
Referring to a particular incident, she wrote that he had refused to issue a certificate and two personal assistants of an MP had come to the hospital. He called the MP and got him to talk to him. The MP who was talking on the phone threatened him with gestures. His cousin has also made similar allegations against the doctor of falsifying medical certificates.
Inspector General of Police (Kolhapur Division) Sunil Phulari said, “We are investigating the case based on the evidence collected so far. A case has been registered in Satara district. Police officer Gopal Badne, involved in the case, has been suspended.”
Political pressure and controversy
The doctor’s suicide and allegations created a political storm in Maharashtra. Congress attacked the state government and said that the police were exploiting women instead of protecting them. Congress leader Vijay Namdevrao Wadettiwar wrote on X (Twitter) that when the protector becomes the eater, then how will justice be achieved?
BJP assured strict action after investigation
BJP assured a complete investigation into the matter. BJP leader Chitra Wagh said the government is ready for the safety of every woman and the 112 helpline should be used to lodge complaints.
