Yes, the city of Ushuaia of Argentina is often called End of the World. Let’s know how this city of Argentina is?
The city called the end of the world is the capital of the Tiera del Fugo state of Ushuaiya Argentina. Located between Marshall Mountain Mala and Beagle Channel, the distance of Antarctica from this city is only one thousand kilometers. That is why it is also called the entrance to Antarctica, because only after that Antarctica starts. The city is situated on the southern side of Argentina. This is where South America ends.
It is called the end of the world because of being situated on the southern shore in the world. Ushuaiya is named after Yemen language, which means deep trench. Spanish, the official language of Argentina, is the main language of Ushuaiya, but being the center of tourism, English is also widely spoken at the tourist destinations here.

Military base is the southern end of the world
In fact, Ushuaiya is not the southern city in the world. In fact, geographically the world’s southern city is Pureto Williams of Chile. But since the population of this city is only three thousand and it is a military base, it is not given the status of the city. In such a situation, Ushuaiya, with a population of one and a half lakhs established, has this status.
If you want to get out of the map of the world, then Ushuaiya acts like a last post (outpost). In the 19th century, Ushuaiya was marked as the last side of the world when the discovery of Antarctica began through Cape Horn.

Museum of prisoners famous worldwide
Ushuaiya has a museum of prisoners, which is famous worldwide. In the year 1902, a jail was built here in the year 1902, in which Argentina’s most dangerous criminals and political prisoners were kept. 600 convicted prisoners brought from across the country were kept in this jail known as Alkatraj, Argentina. The foundation of this city was laid only after forcibly working with them. Through them, houses were built in Ushuaiya and provision of bread and electricity was made.
This jail was closed in 1947. After this, the jail building was renovated and a museum was given the form. Here the cell of prisoners is seen in the same form as the last prisoners left. In this jail, the workshop of prisoners, shoes repair, teller, carpenter shops, bakery and pharmacy are also seen. In addition to the museum of prisoners in this building, there is also Maritime Museum, Antarctic Museum and Marine Art Gallery.
