According to sources, the Commission has prepared a complete outline of voting in 243 assembly seats in the state. The report on security, logistics and staff deployment has been called from the Ministry of Home Affairs. Along with this, the list of over 90,000 booths has been finalized. There is a possibility that this time elections can be held in 2 or 3 stages, so that both festivals and administrative system remains synergy.
Election date possible after Chhath
There is a discussion in the political corridors that the Commission is working towards completing the election process in the first week of November itself. This is because the festive season has started and Diwali and Chhath festival in late October. In such a situation, the voting dates can be kept immediately after Chhath. This time in Bihar, many reforms are being implemented in the voting and counting process so that the results can be declared on time.
More than 90 thousand booths, 1200 voters at every booth
The Commission has made a big change in the voting system this time. About 90 thousand polling stations will now be built in the state. This time the number of booths has been increased compared to earlier to control the crowd of voters. There will be a maximum of 1200 voters at each booth. The Election Commission has directed to strictly implement this rule. Also, the booths will have CCTV cameras, micro observers and webcasting facilities.
Emphasis on security system also
Security is always a big challenge during Bihar elections. In view of this, more than 300 companies can be sent to the state of paramilitary forces this time. Special monitoring will be done in the districts where there were disturbances or violent incidents in 2020. The Chief Election Commissioner has clearly stated that no candidate or party will be allowed to misuse the administrative machinery.
Focus on voters for the first time
This time the Election Commission has planned to run a special campaign for women voters and youth who voted for the first time. In many districts of the state, ‘My first vote – Mere Bihar’s name’ campaign has been started, under which awareness programs are being run in college and university. The Commission aims to achieve a higher turnout percentage this time.

Even before the announcement of ECI, all political parties have intensified preparations at their level. RJD, BJP, JDU and Congress have almost prepared the first list of their candidates. Both the Grand Alliance and NDA are constantly engaged in meetings.
