Elections may be held between April and July 2026
OP Rajbhar informed that as per the current discussions, Panchayat elections in Uttar Pradesh can be held between April to July 2026. However, the official dates of the elections will be announced only after the notification is issued by the Election Commission. Voting schedule and phases will also be announced at the same time.
Under the Panchayat elections, first of all the village head, area Panchayat member and district Panchayat member will be elected. After this, elections will be held for District Panchayat President and Block Chief. This process is considered to give a new direction to the rural power structure of the state.
