Sawan Amavasya 2025 Date: The Holy Shravan month is considered to be the best for the practice of Shiva. The Amavasya which falls with all the festivals in this month, is known as Hariyali Amavas.
Amavasya Tithi is considered fruitful for mantra accomplishment, ancestral work and bathing etc. According to the Panchang, Amavasya Tithi of Shravan month will start from 02:28 am on July 24 this year and will remain till 12:40 in the morning on 25 July 2025. In such a situation, Amavasya will be valid on 24 July 2025 for the work of bathing and dan and Pitrupuja according to Udaya Tithi. What not to do in Shravan Amavasya
In the Sanatan tradition, some rules have been told about not only Shravan but also in other months. For example, on the day of Amavasya, it is forbidden to do auspicious works. In such a situation, avoid any kind of Manglik work on this day. On this day, a person should not go to the deserted and closed dark place for a long time. Similarly, no one should take clothes, shoes or any other items used on Amavasya. On the day of Amavasya, a person should avoid debate with someone. The scriptures are also prohibited to cut hair and nails on Amavasya.
What to do in Shravan Amavasya
- On the day of Shravan Amavasya, bathing and donating on river or lake pilgrimage etc. is considered very virtuous.
- Planting and donating trees on the new moon day of Shravan month is considered very auspicious. In such a situation, on this day you can get their blessings by planting saplings in memory of your ancestors.
- If there is Pitra Dosha in your horoscope, then Shraddha for the ancestors and the needy people in their name should donate money and food etc.
- On the new moon day of Shravan month, feed the cow and serve them.
- On the day of Shravan Amavasya, bad goods should be removed from the house and lighting the whole house with lamps etc. On this day, light a lamp at the main gate of the house.
- To remove the inauspicious effects of Kalsarp dosha in the horoscope, do Rudrabhishek by law on the day of Shravan Amavasya.
