Former Indian U-19 cricketer Harmeet Singh now plays for USA. His old controversy of driving a car on a railway platform in 2017 while playing against India in the T20 World Cup is again in the news. He has now become a major player in American cricket.
Mumbai: Harmeet Singh, once a promising player of Indian cricket, is now playing for USA. Harmeet was also in the USA team to face India at the Wankhede Stadium in the T20 World Cup. He took the important wickets of Hardik Pandya and Akshar Patel for just 26 runs in four overs. For Harmeet, it was like a return to his old home ground Wankhede Stadium.
Born and brought up in Mumbai, Harmeet was a key member of the Indian team that won the Under-19 World Cup in 2012. Later he also played in IPL, but to overcome the decline in his career, he went to America. After debuting for Team USA in 2024, he is now an important part of the team. Till now he has played 22 ODI and 25 T20 matches for USA. Meanwhile, a controversial issue related to Harmeet has again come into discussion on social media.
As soon as the fans saw him bowling at Wankhede, they raised an old controversy again. In 2017, Harmeet’s car driving on the platform of Mumbai’s Andheri railway station became a big news at that time. He was arrested by the police for driving his car on a platform full of passengers early in the morning. A major accident was averted that day because of the car stopped near the railway track.
Apart from this, he was also questioned in the 2013 IPL spot-fixing case, but was later given a clean chit by the police. After recovering from all these controversies, today Harmeet is shining as a super star in American cricket.
