When Rishi Kapoor Appreciated Farah Khan For This Film

Farah Khan has given Bollywood some of its most memorable films. Some of them continue to dominate social media even today, all thanks to their iconic dialogues and unforgettable scenes.

Beyond cinema, the ace director has also carved a space for herself in the digital world with her wildly popular vlogs, featuring her cook, Dilip, who has become a fan favourite in his own right.
Fans eagerly wait for Farah’s vlogs, not just for her candid banter with well-known personalities but also for the rare glimpses into celebrity homes, something audiences absolutely love. The latest episode features Rima Jain and Armaan Jain, and it has all the ingredients of a perfect watch.
A Tour Inside Their Luxurious Abode
The vlog begins with Armaan warmly welcoming Dilip and Farah into his home. After some light-hearted banter, he takes them on a tour of the house. Inside one of the rooms, a wooden cabinet held several cherished belongings that once belonged to his grandparents. He showed Farah a telephone diary carefully maintained by Krishna Raj, where the director was pleasantly surprised to find her own phone number listed. Towards the end of the diary, pages were dedicated to the Kapoor family’s treasured food recipes.
The Glass Globe In Om Shanti Om Was Inspired From Bobby
When Armaan shows Farah his glass collection in the video, Farah recalls that she drew inspiration for the glass globe, featuring a boy and girl dancing at its centre, in Om Shanti Om from Rishi Kapoor’s Bobby.
Not just that, the college shown in Main Hoon Na was also inspired by Mera Naam Joker. Farah recalls calling Rishi Kapoor and asking him about the college in the film. He told her it was St. Paul’s in Darjeeling. She said, “I have stolen many things from his (Rishi Kapoor) films and even Raj Kapoor’s.”
Rishi Lauded Farah For Om Shanti Om
Farah also shared in the vlog that although Rishi Kapoor was not someone who praised easily, he personally called her to appreciate her film, Om Shanti Om. He told her that if his father, Raj Kapoor, had seen the film, he would have been very proud of her; something Farah considers the ‘ultimate’ compliment. The Prem Rog actor was especially impressed by the grandeur of the fire sequence in the film, which he felt echoed the scale and spirit of Raj Kapoor’s films.
Dilip Reminds Rima Jain Of Charlie Chaplin
Rima Jain also soon joined the group, and Farah introduced her as the star of the show. Turning to Dilip, Rima remarked that Raj Kapoor once had a guru, Charlie Chaplin, and said Dilip reminded her of him.
