When Ranveer Singh’s Sister Morphed His Face Onto a DDLJ Poster Before His Bollywood Debut

Actor Ranveer Singh has recalled how his sister once used a little Photoshop and positive thinking to imagine him as a Bollywood star — years before he actually made his debut with Yash Raj Films.

Appearing on Rendezvous with Simi Garewal, Ranveer revealed that his sister created a series of customised film posters for his 23rd birthday. She replaced Shah Rukh Khan’s face with Ranveer’s on posters of YRF films, including Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Dhoom.

Ranveer said his sister had apparently been inspired by the ideas of positive thinking and manifestation after reading The Secret. He kept the morphed pictures, pinned them up in his room and eventually saw the imagined future become reality.

“For my 23rd birthday… my sister had made these small pictures and she had morphed onto posters of Yash Raj Films, Shah Rukh sir’s face was removed and my face was put on a poster of Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Dhoom,” he recalled.

Ranveer made his Bollywood debut in 2010 with Band Baaja Baaraat, opposite Anushka Sharma. The film was produced under the Yash Raj Films banner, giving an unexpected real-life turn to his sister’s birthday gesture.

He went on to build a diverse filmography with movies including Goliyon Ki Raasleela Ram-Leela, Bajirao Mastani, Padmaavat and Gully Boy. His recent work includes Dhurandhar and its sequel.

On the personal front, Ranveer and wife Deepika Padukone recently welcomed their second daughter. The couple announced the birth on September 19 through a joint social media post featuring a tiny footprint and the message, “Welcome baby girl… 19/9/2026… Dua, Deepika, Ranveer.”

The couple’s first child, daughter Dua, was born on September 8, 2024.
