Deepa alleged that the period of harassment by her in-laws started after her father’s death. The victim said in the complaint application, my father had two houses, two plots and agricultural land along with some bank balance. A month after my father’s death, my in-laws asked me to transfer half of my father’s property to them. If they refused, they would start beating them. Fed up with their harassment, she came back to her parents’ home for about 6 months. Despite all this, I still wanted to lose my house. That’s why I kept a fast on Karva Chauth, I thought that I would forget everything and start life in a new way. But I made a mistake, I should not have come near these animals.
