valentine’s story
The most popular story of the beginning of the festival of love, Valentine’s Day, is that of Saint Valentine, who had to suffer the punishment of bringing people in love together. This story dates back to the third century when Saint Valentine was a priest. During this period, Rome was ruled by Emperor Claudius II. The emperor believed that marriage affects men’s ability to become warriors because they are bound by family responsibilities and love. This was the reason why Claudius II had banned marriages. On the other hand, Saint Valentine considered love as a gift from God. Because of this, he used to arrange marriages of lovers.
