Voting for Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 is taking place on 6th and 11th November. As per the instructions of the Election Commission, exit polls can be released only after 6:30 pm on November 11. This restriction has been imposed to ensure fair voting.
Voting for the first phase of Bihar Assembly Elections 2025 is taking place today, November 6, on 121 seats, while the second phase of voting is scheduled for November 11. The results of the elections will come on November 14, but even before that, the public’s eyes are fixed on when the exit polls will be released after the voting is over. The Election Commission has set strict rules regarding the publication of exit polls, due to which you will have to wait for a few days.
When will the exit poll come?
As per the instructions of the Election Commission, exit polls can be released only after 6:30 pm on 11 November 2025. The Commission has completely banned any publication or dissemination of exit polls in print, electronic media or any other medium till 6:30 pm on November 11. This simply means that as soon as the second phase of voting ends, all the survey agencies and news channels will start predicting which party can form the government in Bihar and who can get how many seats.
Election Commission’s strict ban
The Election Commission of India has banned the telecast of exit polls to ensure fair voting. There is a legal restriction on conducting, publishing, publicizing or disseminating the results of any exit poll in any other manner during this period. This rule is implemented so that the result of the exit poll during any one phase of voting does not affect the voters of other phases.
What is exit poll?
Exit poll is a type of election survey, which is conducted on the voting day. When a voter comes out of the polling booth after casting his vote, representatives of the survey agencies ask him questions about which candidate or party he has voted for.
A large amount of data is collected until the polling ends. On the basis of these data, mathematical models are used to predict which way the public is inclined and how many seats a party can get. This happens in the decisive phase immediately after the end of the voting and it shows which party the people have expressed confidence in. Exit polls are usually conducted by various news channels or professional survey agencies.
