New Delhi: Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson has narrated a very interesting anecdote about his team’s 14-year-old young player Vaibhav Suryavanshi. Vaibhav made his debut in the 2025 IPL against Lucknow Super Giants. Then his age was only 14 years and 23 days. With this he became the youngest player to play IPL. Sanju recalled this incident at the ‘Naman Awards’ program held in New Delhi.

Sanju Samson told that before the match, Rajasthan Royals coach Rahul Dravid wanted to give some advice to Vaibhav. For this he called Captain Sanju. Recalling that moment, Sanju said, “Rahul sir called me into the room and said, ‘Sanju, we have to talk to him. He is a very young boy, we have to tell him how to play’. After this Dravid asked Vaibhav, ‘Vaibhav, what is your plan?’ To this he replied, ‘Nothing sir, I will play my game’.”

When Dravid asked again about the game plan, Vaibhav coolly said, “‘If the first ball comes in my zone, I will hit it for a six’. We were surprised to hear this from him. He also watches cricket as if someone is playing a video game,” Sanju said.
