Turn on two-step verification
‘Two-Step Verification’ is the most effective way to provide extra security to your WhatsApp account. With this enabled, even if someone gets hold of your SIM card or steals the OTP, they will not be able to open the account without the PIN you set. You can easily turn it on in your WhatsApp settings.
Do not share PIN and OTP with anyone
Fraudsters often pretend to be delivery agents, bank officials or someone knowledgeable and ask for the six-digit registration code received on your phone. Remember, WhatsApp never asks for such codes through phone calls. Do not share your OTP or verification code with anyone under any circumstances.
Keep an eye on linked devices
Keep checking from time to time to see if anyone else is using your WhatsApp account on a computer or other mobile.
