South Africa are going to face Australia in the final of the ICC World Test Championship 25 The title decider will be held on June 11 and will go on till June 15. Regarding that clash, South Africa’s left-handed bowler Keshav Maharaj has given a massive advice to the team, which might help them in performing better and might even lead them to winning the trophy.
Keshav has stated that the most important thing for the team is to make sure they execute their plans as necessary. He also pointed that even though their team does not have highly-experienced Test players, they are not going to back down from this challenge.
‘We know this is an important Test match. We have a great record at Lord’s. The most important thing for us is to focus on executing our plans. What stands out to me is the never-say-die attitude of this team,’ Keshav said.
‘There are only three players in our team who have experience of playing fifty or more Test matches. But, we do not back down from any challenge. Whoever the opponent is, whatever the place, we trust each other and this is the most important thing for the team,’ he added.
In a statement issued by Cricket South Africa on Sunday, Keshav Maharaj said, ‘Coach Shukri Conrad and captain Bavuma keep this team together and have brought us to this point by constantly encouraging us. They should get credit for this.’
‘Individual accolades don’t matter to me. I always want to play a key role in the team’s victory and like to give my advice wherever possible,’ he said.
‘I want to improve my game by trusting my skills and contribute to the country. I hope I will be able to take 200 more wickets by the end of my career,’ he further said.
Speaking about playing with the team, Keshav expressed his excitement to join the team. He spoke about working hard on his bowling and that he needed a mental break. Keshav said that he is refreshed and expecting to play an important role in helping his team win the title.
‘After the break, I am excited to be back with the boys. The boys were playing all over the place, in different competitions, but now we have some time to really get close and focus. I have been working hard on my bowling and conditioning, and I think we needed a mental break. After two months off, he is feeling refreshed and is expected to play an important role in helping the team win the title. Playing against Australia is a motivation in itself, this team is impressive and has been a winner in all three formats,’ he concluded.
Keshav Maharaj has performed brilliantly in the World Test Championship 2023-2025 cycle and played a big role in taking South Africa to the final for the first time by taking 40 wickets in 8 matches.
