Rakesh Bedi clarified on the violent scenes of ‘Dhurandhar’ which are being criticized. Be it inserting a hook into the skin, crushing the head with a bat or immersing it in a tub of broth. According to Rakesh, “Did Ram kill Ravana without any violence? Now there is a villain, who is very dangerous and people are afraid of him, so obviously there will be violence from both sides. Right. You are not telling the story, you are showing it. If you are doing a story based on real events, then it cannot end in a day.” According to Rakesh, ‘Dhurandhar’ does not glorify violence, but the story needs it. He says, “Will he die just by whistling? It has to be understood that violence in the film has a purpose. Even the way the villain kills the enemy in Lyari is horrifying. If you kill a man like that then why would you need Ranveer (Singh). You could have got me killed. I would have killed you.”
