Asrani Death: Veteran comedian Asrani passed away on the day of Diwali. He breathed his last in Mumbai at the age of 84. While battling lung disease, he had wished the fans a happy Diwali a few hours ago, which made everyone emotional.
Asrani Last Social Media Post: Veteran film actor and comedian Govardhan Asrani, who enthralled the audience with his comedy, is no more. His loved ones are deeply shocked to hear the news of the death of Asrani, who was famous for his role of ‘British era jailer’ played in the film ‘Sholay’. Because the whole country was celebrating Diwali and there was the same atmosphere in Asrani’s house too. But in the meanwhile he quietly and suddenly said goodbye to the world. A few hours before his death, Asrani had shared a special message for his fans, which is making everyone emotional.
What did Asrani write in the last message?
In his last message, Asrani had wished his followers a happy Diwali. In this post, he had shared a poster of Diwali, in which burning lamps were visible and in the background the instrumental version of the song ‘Jalte Diya’ from Salman Khan starrer ‘Prem Ratan Dhan Payo’ was playing. It was written, “Happy Diwali'” Asrani had given credit to Ajay Devgan for this post. Because he took this post from his Instagram handle only. News of death came 8 hours after Diwali message
After Asrani’s Diwali message, another post was made from her Instagram handle, which filled her fans with disappointment. The news of his death was given in this post. The post read, “Asrani ji, who was dear to all of us and brought a smile on everyone’s face, is no more. His demise is an irreparable loss for both Hindi cinema and our hearts. The indelible mark he has left with his acting will always remain immortal. May your soul rest in peace. Om Shanti.”
How did Govardhan Asrani die?
According to reports, his lungs were filled with water and he was undergoing treatment in the hospital. He was admitted only four days before his death. But he died on 20 October 2025 at the age of 84. He is survived by his wife Manju and son Naveen Asrani.
