Abhinav Tejrana: Goa batsman Abhinav Tejarana created history in his very first match in Ranji Trophy. This player scored a brilliant double century against Chandigarh. Abhinav is the first batsman from Goa to achieve this feat. Let us tell you that even batsmen like Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, Virat Kohli have not achieved the feat of scoring a double century in a first class match, but this unknown player proved his talent in the very first match. Abhinav had scored a century on the very first day of Ranji Trophy but he also reached a double century on the second day.
Abhinav Tejrana’s record breaking double century
Abhinav Tejarana came to bat at number 3. This left-handed batsman came to the crease after the fall of Manthan Khutkar’s wicket. Abhinav set his sights as soon as he arrived and scored a century on the very first day. Only three batsmen had done this feat for Goa, in which the name of Arjun Tendulkar is also included. But on the second day, Abhinav increased his score of 130 runs and added 70 more runs. He reached double century in 301 balls. In this way, he became the first batsman from Goa and the 13th in history to score a double century in the very first match of Ranji Trophy. Before him, Gundappa Vishwanath, Amol Mazumdar, Jai Gohil, Anshuman Pandey, Manpreet Juneja, Jeevanjot Singh, Abhishek Gupta, Ajay Rohera, Mayank Raghav, Arslan Khan, Saqibul Ghani, Pawan Shah and Suved Parkar have also done this feat.
Lalit Yadav also scored a double century
Lalit Yadav also played a brilliant innings while playing his first match for Goa. This right-handed all-rounder scored the maximum of 213 runs with the help of 22 fours and 4 sixes. He made a partnership of 309 runs with Abhinav Tejrana. Because of this big partnership, the Goa team managed to score 566 runs in the first innings. However, Arjun Tendulkar was out after scoring only one run in this innings. But this player showed his bowling prowess and gave Goa its first success in his very second over. Arjun gave out LBW to Shivam Bhambri.
