At 3.15pm on 10 May, 2025 India confirmed that the nation has spoken to Pakistan and agreed to halt military actions on ground, army and sea.
India held a press conference to share details how the decision was taken after the Director Generals of Military Operations (DGMOs) from both nations spoke over the phone and agreed to re-establish the ceasefire across all sectors.
But soon after dawn fell, Pakistan drones were spotted on Indian airspaces. To everyone surprise Pakistan’s army didn’t stop for even few hours to abide by the terms agreed upon.
In fact the air strikes by Pakistan came minutes after their prime minister posted his comments on social media. Shehbaz Sharif wrote, “We thank President Trump for his leadership and proactive role for peace in the region. Pakistan appreciates the United States for facilitating this outcome, which we have accepted in the interest of regional peace and stability.”
He further added, “We also thank Vice President JD Vance and Secretary of State Marco Rubio for their valuable contributions for peace in South Asia. Pakistan believes this marks a new beginning in the resolution of issues that have plagued the region and prevented its journey toward peace, prosperity and stability.”
