Prasanthi Nilayam Ashram in Puttaparthi city of Andhra Pradesh is a spiritual and service center for the devotees of Sri Sathya Sai Baba. It was established in 1950 on the 25th birthday of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, which has become an important place for millions of devotees.

The meaning of the name Prasanthi Nilayam has been explained in the official website of Sri Sathya Sai Central Trust. Prasanthi Nilayam means ‘Abode of Supreme Peace’. This is the main ashram of Sri Sathya Sai Baba, situated amidst rolling hills near the village of Puttaparthi, with the Chitravati River flowing to the east.

Prasanthi Nilayam also has a shopping centre, luggage storage cloakroom, center book store, reading room, telephone booth, medical services, laundry service, porter service, banking facilities, ATM, wheel chair facilities and emergency and security office.
There is also facility to stay in the ashram. Its booking can be done online. According to the official website, for the dormitory a single woman has to pay Rs 50 and a man has to pay Rs 30. Whereas, if you buy a family room for 2 people, you will have to pay Rs 300 per day and for a furnished AC room, you will have to pay Rs 700 per day. Apart from this, Rs 950 has been fixed for the newly renovated furnished AC room of the ashram.
