What is Iran’s warship doing at Kochi port amid US-Iran tension? | Iranian Warship Docks At India’s Kochi Port Amid Regional Tensions

Iran’s naval ship IRS Lavan has stopped in Kochi due to technical glitch. This ship with 183 sailors has been kept under tight security. The Government of India is providing them every facility and no decision has been taken yet on their return.

New Delhi: An Iranian naval ship is stopped in Kochi and the Cabinet Committee on Security was also aware of this. According to reports, the committee has also reviewed this matter. India has informed Iran that all kinds of facilities are being provided to the sailors on the ship. This ship has stopped at Kochi port due to technical fault.

This matter is also sensitive because recently America attacked an Iranian ship near the coast of Sri Lanka, in which about 100 people were killed.

This ship named IRS Lavan reached Kochi coast on 28 February. It had asked for help on the same day the war in Iran started. Navy sources gave this information last night. There are 183 Iranian sailors on board. No decision has been taken yet on when this ship will return. The ship has been kept under tight security off the Kochi coast. The security of IRS Lavan has been further increased in view of the American attack on another Iranian ship returning from a Navy exercise in Hyderabad.
