Your Money, Your Rights Initiative: How to get the forgotten money?
The money of crores of people of the country has been lying unclaimed in bank accounts, insurance policies and mutual fund companies for years. To end this problem, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said on Wednesday that the aim of the ‘Your Money, Your Rights’ initiative is to provide its rights to every citizen. So far, more than Rs 2,000 crore has been returned to the people through this initiative. Know that if you also have such unclaimed money lying somewhere, then how you can get it.

How much money is lying unclaimed in banks and insurance companies?
PM Modi has said in his LinkedIn post that about Rs 78,000 crore is lying unclaimed in banks. About Rs 14,000 crore is lying untouched in the insurance companies. About Rs 3,000 crore is unclaimed in mutual fund companies. At the same time, Rs 9,000 crore dividend is also waiting for its owners.

What is ‘Aapka Paisa Aapka Adhikar’ initiative?

- UDGAM Portal (RBI): To check unclaimed bank deposits
- Bima Bharosa Portal (IRDAI): To find money lying in insurance policies
- Mitra Portal (SEBI): To view unclaimed money of mutual fund
- IEPFA Portal (Corporate Affairs Ministry): To search Dividend and Unclaimed Shares
