What does BTS RM watch on YouTube? Suga exposes his leader’s algorithm

New Delhi: K-pop supergroup BTS has returned to the spotlight with their latest album ARIRANG, and fans are eagerly following every interview and appearance the group makes. Amid the promotional whirlwind, a light-hearted moment involving RM and Suga has caught the attention of ARMY worldwide.

The revelation came during the duo’s appearance on the talk show EPIKASE, where the two rappers spoke about life beyond music, including inside jokes within the band. One particular story that had earlier puzzled fans during a viral livestream finally received an explanation.

BTS Suga talks about RM’s YouTube algorithm

During the conversation, the host asked about a memorable moment from a New Year broadcast when BTS members gathered at RM’s house. In that livestream, the group burst into uncontrollable laughter after seeing something on RM’s computer screen.

The host recalled the incident, asking, “On your New Year broadcast, you all gathered together and did something at your house. Back then, you guys were like, ‘Finally, we can see RM’s YouTube algorithm,’ and all that. The members were saying that because RM was at the computer like this, and the guys were behind him. And when it popped up, everyone burst out laughing. What was it that made you laugh? Why was that?”

Suga then revealed the unexpected reason behind the laughter. Comparing his own viewing habits with RM’s, he said, “For me, when I turn it on, it’s like current affairs, history, world history, economics. Expecting things like news… That’s all that shows up.”

RM quickly jumped in to clarify his own preferences. “I don’t watch stuff like that on YouTube,” he admitted.

Suga continued with the reveal that sent fans into a frenzy. “Then we turned it on (RM’s YouTube) and it was kind of, you know, those short dramas, relationship-related stuff… ‘What he does after a breakup,’ stuff like that.”

RM didn’t deny it. Instead, he smiled and admitted, “I like that kind of stuff.”

ARMYs react to RM’s hopeless romantic side

The playful exchange instantly fuelled online discussions among ARMY, who found the revelation both amusing and relatable. Fans flooded social media with reactions, joking that RM’s algorithm looked just like theirs. One user wrote, “We get it namjoon, it’s really fun to watch all that and it’s lowkey addictive.” Another fan commented, “He’s getting ready for his relationship life in a few years.” A third user wrote, “Leave him alone. Our Joonie is a romantic poetic soul.”

The viral moment arrives during a busy period for BTS. The seven-member group, RM, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook, recently staged a massive comeback concert at Seoul’s Gwanghwamun Square and are currently promoting their new music worldwide.

BTS will soon begin a large-scale world tour starting April 9. The global tour is expected to run through 2027.
