Ramanand Sagar’s serial ‘Ramayana’ was telecast on Doordarshan in 1987. Almost every actor of this show was recognized as their characters. Be it Arun Govil who plays the role of Ram, Deepika Chikhalia who plays the role of Sita, Sunil Lahiri who plays the role of Laxman, Dara Singh who plays the role of Hanuman or Arvind Trivedi who plays the role of Ravana. Especially people started worshiping Arun, Govil, Deepika Chikhalia and Dara Singh considering them as real gods.
