West Indies opt to bowl in 3rd T20I against India in Indore

West Indies captain Shai Hope won the toss and decided to bowl first in the 3rd T20I match of T20 Muthoot Fincorp Cup series against India at Holkar Stadium in Indore this evening.

Speaking at the toss, Shai Hope said, “I think we all know what I am going to do, so we are going to bowl first again. It’s going to be challenging when you are playing all three formats. Just about learning as quickly as possible in these conditions. We always know that catches determine a lot of games. Romario is okay but he is resting.”

Jayaraman Madanagopal and Virender Sharma are the field Umpires while Nitin Menon is the 3rd Umpire and Prakash Bhatt is the match referee.

The five-match series is currently level at 1-1. While India won the first match by 8 wickets, West Indies put up a spectacular performance in the second match, successfully chasing down a massive target of 250 runs to win by 6 wickets.

The second T20 International match between the two teams was played on Friday at the JSCA International Stadium Complex in Ranchi. India had posted a massive total of 249 runs; however, West Indies chased down the target in just 18.3 overs. Consequently, the Indian bowlers are under pressure. West Indies captain Shai Hope was the top scorer with 102 runs, while Sherfane Rutherford scored 84 runs.

Given West Indies’ impressive comeback in the second match, all eyes are on today’s game.
