UP State Chapter of Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) of NITI Aayog was launched in Lucknow on the occasion of International Women’s Day. Its objective is to provide mentorship, financial assistance, market connectivity and networking opportunities to women entrepreneurs, which will give new impetus to women entrepreneurship in the state.

In an important initiative towards promoting women entrepreneurship, the Uttar Pradesh State Chapter of NITI Aayog’s Women Entrepreneurship Platform (WEP) was formally launched in Lucknow on the occasion of International Women’s Day. This new office has been established under UP Industrial Consultants Limited (UPICON) in Rohtas Summit Building located in Vibhuti Khand, Gomti Nagar. The objective of this initiative is to provide better resources and opportunities to the women entrepreneurs of the state.

With the establishment of the state chapter of WEP in Lucknow, women entrepreneurs of the state will get national level resources, guidance and opportunities to connect with the market.

Female entrepreneur Sushmita Dutta inaugurates UP chapter

Sushmita Dutta, a renowned woman entrepreneur from Lucknow and founder of Samriddhi Creation, inaugurated the UP chapter of WEP. Sushmita Dutta is one of the leading entrepreneurs in the chikankari based apparel and textile manufacturing sector. Along with promoting the GI tagged traditional Chikankari art of Lucknow, she is also providing employment to a large number of women artisans.

The event, organized on the occasion of International Women’s Day, was attended by women entrepreneurs, industry representatives and various institutional partners.
