The paid preview trend continues to gain momentum in Bollywood, with several films this year benefiting from early screenings ahead of their official release. Joining the bandwagon is Akshay Kumar’s much-awaited comedy entertainer Welcome To The Jungle. Fans of the actor and the popular franchise have another reason to celebrate, as the makers have announced special paid previews of the film a day before it hits cinemas. The strategy, which has helped generate buzz and boost collections for recent releases, is expected to give the multi-starrer comic caper a strong start at the box office before its nationwide release on June 26.

Following the success of paid preview screenings for films this year, the makers of have decided to adopt the same release strategy. The special preview shows of the film will take place on Thursday, June 25, one day ahead of the official release. The screenings are scheduled to begin from 7:30 pm across theatres nationwide. Fans eager to watch the film before everyone else can book tickets for these preview shows. Additionally, audiences can purchase tickets for the regular theatrical run scheduled for Friday, Saturday and Sunday from June 23 onwards, as per a Bollywood Hungama report.

Interestingly, this marks  ’s second film this year to utilise paid previews. Earlier, Bhooth Bangla benefited from the strategy and earned Rs 3.65 crore net through preview screenings alone.

Welcome To The Jungle gets U/A 16+ certificate

Meanwhile, the film recently completed the certification process with the Central Board of Film Certification. The comedy entertainer has received a U/A 16+ certificate after several modifications. Reports in Variety India claim that the CBFC asked the makers to make approximately 18 changes before granting approval. Certain dialogues were either altered or removed, while a few bikini scenes, hand gestures and references to Kashmir were modified. The board reportedly focused on removing sensitive, political or potentially offensive content.

After implementing the changes, the final runtime of the film stands at 2 hours and 44 minutes, or 164.50 minutes.

Directed as a large-scale comedy entertainer, Welcome To The Jungle features one of the biggest ensemble casts in recent Bollywood history. The film stars Akshay Kumar, Suniel Shetty, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Arshad Warsi, Jackie Shroff, Paresh Rawal, Raveena Tandon, Lara Dutta and Farida Jalal. The extensive cast also includes Johny Lever, Shreyas Talpade, Tusshar Kapoor, Rajpal Yadav, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Aftab Shivdasani, Mukesh Tiwari, Yashpal Sharma, Kiran Kumar, Zakir Hussain, Vindu Dara Singh, Urvashi Rautela and several other actors.
