Who would’ve thought that Wednesday Addams would end up being a BLINK. Jenna Ortega’s dance on Blackpink’s single Boombayah in the opening minutes of Episode 6 of the Netflix series has gone viral on the intrenet.
With fans of both the show and the K-pop band posting clips of the sequence, it won’t be surprising if you stumbled upon it while scrolling through your timelines.
In the dance portion, Boombayah plays in the background as Wednesday put on colours! She transforms herself in terms of her signature looks and demeanour, bursting into the courtyard of Nevermore, shaking a leg to the smash hit, and leaving her classmates and the audience absolutely shocked.
Emma Myers helped Jenna Ortega prepare for Boombayah
While nobody saw Blackpink’s unexpected debut into the Wednesday universe coming, Jenna co-star in the hit Netflix show, Emma Myers reveals how she kind of helped Jenna prepare for the iconic dance scene in Wednesday Season 2, Part 2, which premiered on September 3.
Emma, who plays the character of Enid Sinclair, Wednesday’s werewolf roommate at Nevermore, told MTV UK said, “I did not recommend the song. I’ve had a lot of people ask me, ‘Oh, you must have had the K Pop influence’. I have no say in what happens in the editing room at all, but I thought that’s a great dance song for Enid. I was not on set to see Jenna do that, but I actually I hadn’t choreographed it. But I did send her a bunch of videos of how Enid would dance, and I think she pulled what she wanted from all those videos. So I let her do her thing.”
