Wedding plan turns tragic: Car overturns in Hirekerur, woman flees leaving lover behind

New Delhi: The dream of a young man was shattered on the road after he met with an accident near Chennahalli Tanda in Hirekerur taluk. He had rented a car from Bangalore to take the hand of the girl he loved, but the car overturned, leaving three people, including his lover, hospitalised. The woman fled the scene and returned to Bangalore.

The injured man, Irfan, and the woman from Hirekerur had met while working at a private company in Bangalore and had fallen in love, eventually deciding to get married.

Accident en route to marriage

The young woman had come to Hirekerur’s Thannur for a fair. Irfan had planned to take her from there and marry her. For this, Irfan, along with his friends Chandru and Gururaj, had come to the village in a rented car to pick her up.

It is reported that the youths were driving at high speed, possibly fearing pursuit by the young woman’s parents. The car lost control near Chennahalli Tanda, hit a tree at the roadside, and overturned. The car was completely mangled due to the severity of the accident, and Irfan and his two friends were seriously injured. The young woman, who was in the back seat, luckily escaped death. This unusual love affair unfolded within the jurisdiction of the Hirekerur police station.

Woman flees amid chaos

As the accident occurred, locals rushed to rescue the injured. Fearing for her safety and dignity as the crowd gathered, the young woman left her lover behind, sought help from the villagers to reach a bus, and returned to Bangalore. The injured youths are currently undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
