Weather Update: Heavy Rain Likely In Delhi-NCR, UP Till August 8; Check Forecast For Himachal, Uttarakhand

Weather Update: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has stated that several states are likely to witness light to heavy rainfall for the next few days.

As per the weather department, heavy rain is expected in parts of multiple states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. Along with rain, these states are set to experience thunderstorms, gusty winds, and lightning.

Delhi-NCR Weather Update

The weather department, in its latest advisory, stated that Delhi and nearby cities, including Gurugram, Noida, Ghaziabad, and Faridabad, are likely to witness light to moderate rainfall at least till August 8. The continuous rain activities are likely to provide relief from the heat and humidity by reducing the temperature. However, the excessive rain might lead to waterlogging in the lower regions.

Rain Likely In UP, Bihar

As per the IMD, the western districts of Uttar Pradesh, including Muzaffarnagar, Meerut, and Baghpat, are likely to experience rain at least till August 7. Apart from this, there is a rain alert in eastern parts of the state until August 8. The rain is likely to be accompanied by heavy surface winds and lightning, likely to cause damage to the infrastructure and crops.

Hilly States To Witness Rain

The weather department stated that heavy rain is expected in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand from August 4 to 7. It further stated that thunderstorms, lightning, and winds with speeds of up to 30-40 kmph are expected in these regions. The tourists have been advised to follow the guidelines and plan their travel accordingly to avoid the inconveniences.

Apart from this, a heavy rain warning has been issued for several regions of the northeastern states, including Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, and Sikkim. The weather department has also issued a heavy rain alert for some regions of Kerala and Karnataka.
