According to the IMD, districts like Mumbai, Thane, Raigad, Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Pune Ghat area, Kolhapur Ghat area, Satara Ghat area, Nanded, Latur and Dharashiv are expected to have strong rains. At the same time, Gadchiroli, Chandrapur and Yavatmal may also receive moderate to heavy rains. The government’s Information and Public Relations Directorates have made it clear that there is no hope of returning the monsoon before October 5. That is, the process of rain will continue in Maharashtra.

Farmers advise to be vigilant in view of the weather

The Agriculture Department has warned the farmers to protect their farm and cut crops. Strong winds and persistent rains may increase the risk of damage. The department has also said that the work of work in the fields should be made according to the weather. The continuous rains in Maharashtra this month have damaged 50 lakh hectares of agricultural land and standing crops so far. Especially due to floods in Marathwada area, millions of acres of crops were destroyed and many people lost their lives.

Water level of dams and rivers increased, flood threat

Officials have warned that the water level in the dams in the Ghat areas of Marathwada, Konkan and western Maharashtra is increasing rapidly. Due to this, there is a danger of flooding in rivers and water streams. Rs 2,215 crore has been sanctioned from the State Disaster Management Fund, so that flood affected farmers and families can be assisted. Apart from this, additional funds have also been demanded from the central government.

Rain havoc in Telangana too

The weather has also worsened in Telangana. Many districts including the capital Hyderabad are receiving torrential rains. Due to heavy rains, the gates of Himayatsagar and Osmanasagar reservoirs had to be opened, which intensified the flow of water in the Musi river. In view of the danger, about 55 people were taken to a safe place from Shivaji Bridge and Bhup-Lakshmi Temple area. Food and medicines have been arranged in relief camps for the affected people.

Weather conditions in Hyderabad

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Commissioner RV Kernan said that the situation is constantly being monitored. All officers have been placed on high alert. On September 27, IMD issued warnings of heavy to heavy rains, thunderstorms and strong winds in many parts of the state.
