New Delhi: Delhi and the National Capital Region (NCR) woke to light rain on Tuesday morning with the India Meteorological Department (IMD) issuing a yellow alert for the national capital and adjoining areas for today. The fresh spell of rain is likely to bring the temperature down in the city and nearby areas.
According to the weather department, the city is likely to experience light rain throughout the day. Noida, Ghaziabad, Gurugram, and Faridabad are also expected to witness multiple spells of rain from morning to night.
“Generally cloudy sky. One or two spells of very light to light rain accompanied with thunderstorm and lightining and gusty winds 30-40 kmph gusting to 50 kmph during the forenoon to afternoon. Another spell of very light to light rain accompanied with thunderstorm and lightning is likely during the evening and night,” the IMD said in its weather bulletin.
The weather office has also issued a yellow alert for Delhi for Wednesday, predicting light rain accompanied by thunderstorms and lightning.
