Australia vs England: There is no sign of changing the story of the England cricket team, which has not won a single test match in Australia for the last 15 years. The last time England won a Test match on Australian soil was in 2010-11. Since then, the team has not got a single win in 17 consecutive test matches. The defeat in the Brisbane Test was the 15th defeat in these 17 matches. England’s continuous defeats have enraged their fans and former cricketers. But the reason given by team coach Brendon McCullum for this defeat has surprised everyone. McCullum says that the team had prepared more than necessary for this match.
Australia and England The current Ashes series started in Perth between. In the very first test match of the series, Australia defeated England by 8 wickets in just 2 days. After this, the second test match was played in Brisbane, which was day-night and was played with pink ball. This match continued till the fourth day but the result remained the same. England again had to face defeat by 8 wickets. In this way, it suffered its 15th defeat in 17 consecutive Test matches on Australian soil, while 2 Test matches were drawn.
McCullum’s strange statement after the defeat
With two consecutive defeats in this series, England’s hopes of comeback have started fading and coach McCullum is under question. But as bad as England’s performance was, coach Brendon McCullum gave an even more surprising statement. Speaking to the broadcaster after the team’s defeat, McCullum said, “We’ll probably have a beer today. I think we over-prepared coming into this match. We trained very hard for five days in a row and sometimes when you’re in the heat of competition, like we are, sometimes the most important thing is to feel fresh.”
“Leading into this Test match, I actually think we over prepared to be honest.”

Practice match left during 12 day break
As far as preparations are concerned, the first match of the series started on 21 November and ended on 22 November. After this the next match started from 4th December. That means the English team got a break of 12 days during this period. McCullum may talk about 5 consecutive training sessions, but during this time the English team also had a chance to play a day-night practice match, but the pair of Stokes and McCullum had decided to rest instead of taking part in it. Its effect was also visible on the team’s performance and it could not adjust itself in front of the pink ball, the result of which was seen in the form of 5 catch drops and in the end the match was snatched away from it.
