Vijay Deverakonda and Rashmika Mandanna are now husband and wife, but their on-screen journey together began with “Geetha Govindam”. Their chemistry struck a chord with audiences, and the film went on to become a blockbuster.
They reunited for “Dear Comrade”, which received mixed reactions at the box office. However, the film reportedly brought them closer in their personal lives, and their relationship eventually blossomed into marriage. The couple tied the knot in February 2026 after dating for several years.
Following “Dear Comrade”, several filmmakers and producers tried to bring the pair together for a third film. However, Vijay and Rashmika wanted their next collaboration to be something special.
“When Rahul Sankrityan narrated the script of ‘Ranabaali’, we felt that the roles of Ranabaali and Jayamma suited us well, and Rashmika and I agreed to do the film. It is a special film. Although we knew we would be playing husband and wife in the movie, we signed it last year. Only the film is releasing after our marriage,” Vijay Deverakonda explained.
Directed by Rahul Sankrityan, “Ranabaali” is scheduled for release on October 16.
