‘We found something, I felt more grip, but we still need more’ – Toprak Razgatlioglu

Toprak Razgatlioglu was second in the second free practice of the Superbike World Championship in Cremona – which also made him the second-fastest overall on the day.

The 2021 and 2024 champion was 0.215s off the leader, Nicolò Bulega (Aruba.it Ducati). However, Friday was spent working with the races in mind, and it was marked by improvements in grip, as Razgatlioglu explained:

– We’re still working on the bike because we need a really good setup for the race. Today, we focused especially on improving rear grip. I didn’t originally plan a race simulation but with the hot conditions it became clear we needed more grip at the rear. We found something because in the last run I was able to set a good lap time. I felt more grip, which is positive, but we still need more.

The Turkish rider from ROKiT BMW also commented on his rivals and on riding at Cremona in competition for the first time: ‘The others are very strong. Bulega was doing 1m29s quite easily. It’s looking a bit better for us because we’ve made some progress and hopefully we can find a bit more tomorrow. After missing this round last year I’m really enjoying riding this track’.
