‘We all had issues with the front of the bike, so I would say the rear was more complicated’ – Joan Mir

Joan Mir admitted that the conditions at Silverstone were difficult for everyone but emphasised that the behaviour of his bike left him particularly puzzled.

Nevertheless, he ruled out the front tyre as the main issue.

With the wind, cold, and low grip levels, riders faced extra challenges. When asked if tyre temperatures had significantly influenced his performance, the Spaniard answered cautiously: ‘I don’t know. I don’t know. Hopefully, I get some information and an explanation this afternoon because it’s very important for me to know what happened. That’s it.’

Although front tyre wear was a topic among several riders, Mir did not identify it as the key issue: ‘The front, I think that was a common problem. We all had problems with the front. So I would say more with the rear.’

This statement reinforces the idea that the issue may be more related to the bike’s setup or the behaviour of the rear compound under specific conditions.

The Spaniard leaves Silverstone on Saturday hoping that the team’s analysis will shed light on the mystery that prevented him from showing his true potential in the Sprint.
