Mayank Yadav’s three-wicket haul completes India’s 3-0 T20I series whitewash over Zimbabwe
India completed a comprehensive 3-0 series whitewash over Zimbabwe after securing a clinical 35-run victory in the third T20I at the Harare Sports Club on 26 July 2026. India won the toss and opted to bat first, the Indian batsmen posted a highly competitive total of 192/5 in their allotted 20 overs.
The undisputed star of the first innings was 15-year-old batting sensation Vaibhav Sooryavanshi, who anchored the team with a masterful, career-best 81 off 49 balls, featuring 8 fours and 4 massive sixes. He stitched important partnerships with Ishan Kishan (29) and captain Shreyas Iyer (27) to lay down a formidable foundation, before a brisk, late cameo from Rinku Singh (25 off 14 balls) provided the explosive finishing touch. For Zimbabwe, Brad Evans was the pick of the bowlers, returning figures of 2/41.
During the second innings, host country Zimbabwe got off to a disastrous start when speedster Mayank Yadav dismissed Brian Bennett for a golden duck on the very first delivery of the chase. Fellow pacer Yash Thakur then struck twice in the fifth over to remove Dion Myers and skipper Sikandar Raza, crippling the hosts’ top order. Despite a fighting, unbeaten 54 from Ryan Burl and a 60-run partnership with Wessly Madhevere (28), Zimbabwe simply fell behind the required run-rate. Mayank Yadav returned late to dismantle the middle order, finishing with impressive figures of 3/29 as Zimbabwe were restricted to 157/7. Sooryavanshi was awarded the Player of the Match and Series awards.
