Hyderabad: Water supply will be shut in some parts of the city from 8 am on March 7 to 8 pm on March 8.
The affected areas include Kokapet, Manikonda, Narsingi, Manchirevula, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) said. The supply to Shaikpet reservoir will be stopped and water will be provided to Bhojagutta area at low pressure.
Repair and modernization work:
The Water Board has taken the decision due to urgent repairs and modernization works at the Manjira Phase-3, Peddapur Pump House.
The Old High Tension (HT) electrical panels, which are about 35 years old, will be replaced with new ones at Peddapur Pump House, the water board said.
The air valves in the 1600 mm dia pumping main pipeline from Peddapur to Singapore will be replaced and the air vents in the 2000 mm dia gravity main pipeline from Singapore to Peddapur will be repaired, the statement read.
During the 36 hours, water will be supplied at low pressure at some places while there will be disruptions in supply to some areas.
The water board urged consumers affected by the disruption to use water sparingly.
