Watch | UP man pulls out snake from jacket while complaining about medical neglect

New Delhi: A video circulating on social media shows a man producing a live snake while complaining about not receiving treatment at a government hospital. The clip was posted on X by a user and has since gone viral.

The video begins with the middle-aged man alleging that he was denied medical treatment at a government hospital despite being bitten by a snake. As he explains that the snake bit him on his hand, a person off camera asks which snake it was. In response, the man unzips his jacket and casually pulls out the snake, stunning those present.

‘UP is not for beginners’

Sharing the video on X, the user wrote, “Bro was bitten by a venomous snake. Bro got angry over no proper treatment at the local hospital. When people asked which snake it was, bro casually pulls out a snake from his jacket. And you think UP is for beginners.”

However, the identity of the man and the exact location of the incident remain unknown.

Video highlights poor condition of government hospitals

While the video has drawn humour and shock online, it also highlights the serious shortcomings of government healthcare facilities, particularly their inability to provide timely treatment in emergency situations.

Government hospitals in India continue to face major challenges, including overcrowding, staff shortages, inadequate infrastructure, and limited availability of medicines. According to a recent government report, nearly 80 per cent of such hospitals fail to meet basic standards. Despite these shortcomings, public hospitals remain vital due to their affordability and reach, especially in rural areas. Ongoing reform efforts under initiatives like the National Health Mission aim to address these gaps, though patients frequently report long waiting times, insufficient attention, and a preference for private healthcare due to perceived quality concerns, despite higher costs.
