Team India Practice Ahead of 1st ODI: With just a day to go before the start of their much-anticipated white-ball series against Australia, the Indian cricket team hit the ground running in Perth on Saturday with an intense training session that focused on fielding drills, net practice, and match-scenario simulations.

The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) gave fans a glimpse into the team’s preparations by sharing a behind-the-scenes training video on X (formerly Twitter), captioned:
“Focus on. High intensity from #TeamIndia as they get ready for the challenge Down Under.”

 

 

The clip featured India’s ODI skipper Shubman Gill leading from the front alongside senior pros Rohit SharmaVirat KohliKL RahulShreyas IyerYashasvi Jaiswal, and young wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel. The batters were seen going through sharp catching drills before heading into the nets for focused batting practice.

India’s pace battery – Harshit RanaMohammed SirajArshdeep Singh, and Prasidh Krishna, were also spotted in action, going through their warm-ups before unleashing some serious pace in the nets.

The all-rounders – Axar PatelWashington Sundar, and Nitish Kumar Reddy, showcased their versatility, splitting time between bat and ball. Spinner Kuldeep Yadav also took part in a focused training session, sharpening his craft ahead of a crucial overseas assignment.

Australia vs India ODI Series 2025: The Tour at a Glance

India is set to take on Australia in a full-fledged white-ball series comprising three ODIs and five T20 Internationals. The tour kicks off on Sunday, October 19 with the first ODI at Optus Stadium in Perth. The remaining two ODIs will be played on October 23 (Adelaide) and October 25 (Sydney).

The action then shifts to the T20 format, with the five-match series scheduled from October 29 to November 8, across venues like Canberra, Melbourne, Hobart, Gold Coast, and Brisbane.

This tour also marks the much-anticipated return of two Indian legends – Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, who will be seen in the Indian jersey for the first time since the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 Final earlier this year.
