Hyderabad: Telangana RTC bus crashed into a divider after colliding with a lorry near Kothirampur bypass in Karimnagar district of Telangana.
A video of the accident showed a badly damaged front portion of the bus while several passengers were injured and bleeding. Locals rushed to the rescue of the passengers. Police registered a case and an investigation is underway.
Amid RTC workers strike, passengers expressed anger that government is operating buses with untrained drivers, leading to the accident.
Several bus depots across Telangana appeared deserted as passengers were left in the lurch. 150 RTC buses in Peddapalli district remained confined to the depot while in Husnabad, Siddipet district, workers staged a protest in front of the RTC depot. In Mahabubnagar, 112 buses remained confined to the depot, however, officials arranged 16 electric buses for passengers.
