Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) registered their fourth defeat in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 after their eight-wicket defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium on April 22. Batting first, Lucknow got an aggressive start from their openers Mitchell Marsha and Aiden Markram but after the latter’s dismissal, the hosts kept on losing wickets in regular intervals which helped DC to restrict Lucknow on 159/6 in 20 overs.
Lucknow’s captain came to bat at number seven and couldn’t score any runs in the contest after facing two deliveries.
Before going into the middle to bat, engaged in a chat with the team’s mentor Zaheer Khan. After a few moments, the LSG skipper walks out to bat after Ayush Badoni’s dismissal. However, the southpaw failed to be impactful and looked exasperated at his mentor’s decision of sending him in the lower-middle-order.

KL Rahul guides DC to sixth IPL 2025 win
Chasing a score of 160, DC looked disciplined while batting and saw the heroics of opener Abhishek Porel and . Porel smashed 51 off 36 while his opening partner Karun Nair could score only 15 off nine. Rahul, who came to bat at number three, again looked composed and produced an unbeaten 57 off 42.
The veteran stood at the crease until the end and took his team home in 17.5 overs. Mukesh Kumar, who picked up 4/33 figures in his four-over spell, got the player of the match (POTM) award. With this win, DC succeded in maintaining their second spot on the points tally. Their next encounter will be against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on April 27.
